What are you thinking Network Solutions???? article The concept of jacking up the prices for queried domain names is an insane business model. That is bad business.
As quoted in the article Wade said Network Solutions decided on the policy to register the domain after the search so that the name won’t be registered by “some obscure person” before the original searcher comes back to register it.

There is a reason why companies like Godaddy are doing so well. It is cheap, reliable and they are not out to take you up the tailpipe.
I remember the days when Network Solutions was the place to buy a domain name which would cost you 50 bucks per year. I’m not sure if they have not adapted to the times, but come on. The last time I bought a domain name from Network Solutions was 1999 and that was because this little company named Godaddy was drastically undercutting by providing the same service for $8.95
I guess some companies just don’t cope well when there gravy train gets derailed. Network Solutions you just need to face the facts you can’t sell a domain name for $50 or even $35 anymore, start competing instead of extorting.
One thing we can thank Netsol for is making me create the Shame Category on the blog! Way to go Network Solutions your #1 in my shame category.
